Online Day of the Dead Presentation

On Monday, November 2 at 7:00pm, the San Mateo County Historical Association will present Casa Círculo Cultural, which will conduct a free webinar on the history and traditions surrounding the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) as it is practiced in the United States.

Día de los Muertos is a time when people from Mexico and other Latin American countries honor the memories of their deceased loved ones. The celebration is filled with special foods, decorations and visits to the cemetery to clean and decorate family graves. Home ofrendas (altars) are often created to honor the deceased. They are traditionally decorated with candles, photographs, flowers, foods and objects that were special to a loved one.
