Summer Half Moon Bay Antiques & Collectibles Show and Sale
Lyonessa Collectibles is proud to announce their Summer Half Moon Bay Antiques & Collectibles Show and Sale on June 22-23, 2019 at the I.D.E.S. Society Hall in downtown Half Moon Bay. If you’re a treasure hunter, decorator, collector or simply enjoy finding special pieces from your past, this event is for you!
Featuring a variety of dealers, the Half Moon Bay Summer Antiques Show provides a diverse spectrum of interesting merchandise. A stroll through the aisles (indoor and outdoor) offers you the opportunity to browse an assortment of quality merchandise; including art pottery & glassware, decorative items, furniture, sterling silverware, Asian antiquities, vintage clothing, estate and costume jewelry, artwork, toys, Western Americana and more.
On Saturday (June 22nd), Bruce Morton from Sonoma Tintype will be taking one of a kind original photographs using the same historic technique that was invented back in the 1850’s. Tintype photography is a way of capturing an image directly on a thin iron plate that has been coated with chemicals, exposed in a camera while the plate is still wet, and then developed immediately on location for a reasonable fee. This was the primary form of photography during the Civil War and is considered by many to be superior to modern photography because it’s almost grainless.
Celebrity appraiser Steven Yvaska of San Jose, “The Antiques Adviser”, invites collectors to bring their favorite family heirlooms or latest garage sale finds for verbal identification and evaluation on Sunday (June 23rd) for $5.00 per item. Mr. Yvaska is available to assist collectors in pricing antiques for sale. Arrangements may also be made for private consultation including estate evaluation and written appraisals for insurance. A frequent guest speaker at Bay Area historical societies, museums, groups and antique clubs, Mr. Yvaska has delivered programs about subjects as varied as American art pottery, glass, jewelry, holiday collectibles, ocean liner memorabilia, sterling silver and postcards. He may be best-known for his columns on antiques for the San Jose Mercury News. His work is often reprinted in professional newsletters, journals and bulletins.
The I.D.E.S. Society Hall is located at 735 Main Street. Admission is $6.00 for the event, as a portion of proceeds from admission fees will be donated to the Sweet Farm Foundation (http://sweetfarm.org/); an animal rescue organization dedicated to providing care and assistance to animals who are homeless, abused or otherwise in need. A wine and cheese tasting, featuring wine from La Nebbia Winery in Half Moon Bay, will also be available for an extra $10.00.
Show hours are Saturday June 22nd from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday June 23rd from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. For more information about the event, please visit www.HMBAntiquesShow.com.
