Since the 1960’s, music lovers have been coming to the Douglas Beach House to enjoy cool tunes by the ocean. An evening at the Douglas Beach House is a pleasant one with light food provided and a b.y.o.b. policy allowing patrons to enjoy a nice bottle of wine by the beach while they are serenaded by live music.
This weekend, the Marcus Shelby Orchestra will be performing their latest piece celebrating the San Francisco bay area ‘ Green and Blues’ in addition to some of their well loved suites such Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., and Port Chicago. Shelby has a large body of work behind him in addition to a reputation as an educator, composer and performer. He was also voted ‘Top Ten Most Influential African Americans in the Bay Area’ in 2005.
