As a composer, pianist and bandleader Mariah Parker’s work crosses cultural boundaries with an exuberant quest for defying musical labels or categorization. Her Indo Latin Jazz Ensemble, is a captivating fusion of Latin jazz’s infectious rhythms, the spiritual melodies of Eastern music, and the passionate soul of flamenco.

Mariah’s recordings of original music have enjoyed prominence on multiple radio charts including the National Jazzweek Airplay and Roots Report Music charts, and have been celebrated globally for their innovative soundscapes and compositional brilliance. Her academic journey at UC Santa Cruz laid the foundation for her groundbreaking musical career. Working alongside ethnomusicologist Fred Lieberman and the iconic drummer Mickey Hart on the “Planet Drum” project, Mariah began exploring the fusion of musical traditions, a theme that would define her career.
