in the last week
I enjoyed my stay at Half Moon Bay Lodge. The room was clean and comfortable, and I loved having the fireplace. When you first walk in, you do notice a wood smell from the fireplace usage, but it added to the cozy feel for me. I did think the accommodations were a little pricey, but it is California and one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever visited, so the overall experience made it worth it.
The hot tub was very nice after long days of hiking, and breakfast each morning was average but convenient. I also appreciated that they accommodated my request to come a day early and allowed me to remain in the same room. The front desk lady that assisted me was extremely helpful.
The location is excellent, only about 33 minutes from the San Francisco airport, close to golf courses, beautiful beaches, and incredible hiking trails all along the coast. If you stay here, absolutely drive down the coast to Shark Fin Cove. There are countless breathtaking stops along the drive, gorgeous beaches, and hiking trails everywhere. I traveled in early May during the week, and the beaches were practically empty in the mornings, which made it even more special.
I also got a foot massage at Cloud 9 Foot Spa right next door, and it was fabulous after hiking all day.
I shared lots of photos because this entire area was honestly incredible. The photos are of all the beaches along the way down to Sharp Finn so you don’t miss out on being so close to all these beautiful spots!!! Its not a far drive and so worth it to see all this beautiful landscape.
