in the last week
We've visited here a few times for Sunday brunch and the scenery but never stayed overnight until this time. Came here on Sunday, Memorial Day weekend, for wife's bday.
This was a smaller Ritz location with a main bldg and "Guest House" side, which was about 5-10mins walking distance (depending on pace). I would describe this Ritz and the main bldg as more cozy with great views. 5*
Room: we were upgraded to the courtyard and ocean view, which was really nice, by the frontdesk manager (platinum status may also have helped. Lol). Room at first glance was very nice and well appointed...except a few items could have been better for a Ritz such as a better alarm clock (like at least Bose or equivalent). However, room did have a DOHM machine. At closer look, the dressers, nightstands, and furniture need to be remodeled or replaced...4.5*
Restaurant: we only tried the Navio this time for dinner. We made reservations at 630pm and was called to confirm a couple of times, with an offer of an earlier dinner time. Thought this was a nice service gesture but should come with the terriority of a 5* hotel restaurant? Surprisingly, the menu only had two limited prefixe options, which we were not informed on the website nor during the couple of calls. We were hoping to get a couple of items from the regular menu.
All the dishes were wonderful, delicious, well-balanced, tasty...5*: wagyu tartare, trout, black cod, beef tenderloin (aka filet mignon), tropical and mocha dessert. (Pictures at Navio restaurant.)
Service: 5*, excellent from both our server and associate server (feel so bad that I lost and can't remember their names).
At each encounter with the hotel staff throughout the property, we were given 5* service. Complimentary glass water bottles were great but could be improved with water refilling station and stainless bottles for guests to refill.
Pearls: mountain bikes complimentary for 3hours at the Guest House pool.
