THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A “NORMAL” WAY TO THINK, ACT OR LEARN.

The Future of Normal is a documentary by local filmmaker Gail Evenari that explores how our society’s rigid standards of conformity have marginalized individuals who think and learn differently.

COME TO OUR MARCH MOVIE NIGHT FOR STORY CLIPS FROM THE WORK-IN-PROGRESS AND A DISCUSSION WITH THE FILMMAKER, EDITOR, PARTICIPANTS IN THE FILM, AND ADVISORS. EVERYONE HAS A NEURODIVERSITY STORY. WHAT’S YOURS?

By bringing attention to neurodiversity, a concept that recognizes the rich spectrum of cognitive variability, The Future of Normal reaches into the fundamental structures of American society to examine the nature of human intelligence, the myriad ways that our brains can learn, and the rationale for embracing a new definition of normal.

At the film’s core are stories from neurodivergent individuals and the amazing parents, educators, scientists and advocates who support them. Together they are challenging and changing the systems that have stigmatized them. Their stories are profoundly disheartening, fiercely inspiring and powerful enough to spark a movement.
