Life in Half Moon Bay

The Half Moon Bay Coastside is a flourishing community. It's the oldest community in San Mateo County, and has a rich and colored history. From the original ‘Spanishtown’, the rum runners of the 20’s and 30’s, to the prospering farming, fishing, and floral industries today, the Coastside supports a thriving economy and a happy population.

The Coastside is home to massive orange pumpkin fields in the fall, Christmas tree farms for the holidays and a year-round floral explosion at the many nurseries, farms and gardens. The farmers market over the summer is filled with locally-grown produce and products of all kinds—chocolate, eggs, pottery and hummus! Our Main Street is a quaint and fun place to hang out. The Pillar Point Harbor is constantly bustling with the catch of the day, or paddlers heading out for a day's outing. We think this place is pretty special, and we encourage visitors to take advantage of all the awesomeness the Half Moon Bay Coastside has to offer.
