John L. Carter Park

Tucked just behind Main Street near the historic bridge, John L. Carter Park offers a peaceful retreat shaded by redwoods and framed by quiet walking paths and benches. Named for Half Moon Bay’s founding father and first mayor, the park honors his legacy with a space that invites both reflection and community connection.

Following a major renovation completed in August 2025, the park now features a beautifully designed amphitheater with terraced seating and a new stage—creating a welcoming venue for performances, gatherings, and cultural events. The addition of a restroom and concession stand building, improved trail access, and thoughtful landscaping make the space more usable and inclusive for all.
