The New Captain Pete continues to anchor its legacy in Pillar Point Harbor, Half Moon Bay. This distinguished charter, renowned as a premier choice on the Northern California coast, embarks from the ideal location for exploring the stunning San Mateo County coast. Now operated by Melynda Dodds, the New Captain Pete stands as a symbol of continuity and excellence in sea adventures.

At the helm of the New Captain Pete is Captain Mike Cabanas, a seasoned veteran in charter fishing boats with over 9 years of experience, including his notable tenure as captain of the HuliCat. His expertise, coupled with the assistance of an experienced and courteous deckhand, ensures an enriching fishing experience for all aboard. The deckhand’s role extends beyond just assistance with tackle; they offer valuable fishing tips and take care of cleaning your catch, adding to the comfort and convenience of your trip.

The vessel itself, a 53-foot marvel capable of cruising at 15 knots, is designed to accommodate up to 38 anglers comfortably. It boasts state-of-the-art navigational equipment, including a Furuno fish finder, a Furuno 36-mile radar, and an Echotec GPS. Notably, in 2021, the New Captain Pete underwent a significant overhaul, enhancing its performance with two new Eco-Friendly John Deere engines. The onboard amenities further elevate the experience, featuring a heated cabin and separate restroom facilities for men and women. Beyond fishing expeditions, the New Captain Pete also offers nature trips, parties, and cruises, providing a versatile platform for various sea-bound adventures.
