Surf Shops

From the giant waves at Mavericks to the friendlier waters of Surfers' Beach, the Half Moon Bay Coastside has long been home to surfers both amateur and pro. So it's no surprise that the area has its share of surf shops.

The best known is Mavericks Surf Company, owned by local surfing legend Jeff Clark, the man who helped bring the famous surf break to the world's attention. His shop at Pillar Point Harbor attracts surfers and surf fans with custom boards, surfing gear, and gifts, along with a chance to meet the famous proprietor. Board and wetsuit rentals are available as well. Also in the harbor is Mavericks PaddleSports, a sister shop dedicated to the to Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and offered gear for sale or rent as well as lessons and group tours.

Nearby you'll find HMB Surf Factory at the Shoppes at Harbor Village, which specializes in surf apparel and gifts, and has a second location on Main Street in Half Moon Bay.

Just south of the harbor in Miramar is Cowboy Surf Shop, offering boards, wetsuits, and other surfing gear for sale and rent.

Also in Miramar, HMB Board Shop has a great selection of boards and other gear which you can rent or purchase, and they rent bicycles as well (including tandem bikes).
