Rising jazz sensation Ayo Brame brings his electrifying sound to the Bach for a special afternoon performance. A 19-year-old Oakland native and master of tenor, soprano, and WEI saxophone, Ayo has toured internationally—including a recent standout appearance at the Havana Jazz Festival—and headlined sold‑out shows at Yoshi’s.
Currently a freshman at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Manhattan and a graduate of Oakland School for the Arts, Ayo is known for his dynamic fusion of jazz and soul. He has been featured on Jill Scott’s track “Pressha” from her album To Whom This May Concern.
Known for his soulful, expressive style, Ayo draws inspiration from jazz legends John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, and Sonny Rollins. Dedicated to preserving the legacy of jazz while pushing the genre forward, this special performance will feature an all‑star lineup led by acclaimed music director Kev Choice.
