Hearing the Chester “CT” Thompson Organ Quartet is an experience like no other. After 26 years with Carlos Santana and a decade with Tower of Power, CT brings a signature blend of deep pocket groove, soulful expression, and explosive energy to the stage. His unmistakable sound—anchored by his legendary left hand/left foot bass—moves effortlessly from smooth and lyrical to thunderous and driving.
Saxophonist Howard Wiley adds a powerful tenor voice and relentless rhythmic feel, while guitarist Barry Finnerty—known for work with the Brecker Brothers, the Crusaders, Miles Davis, etc.—brings decades of jazz, blues, and rock mastery. Drummer Dante Roberson completes the quartet with the versatility and precision that have made him an in demand Bay Area musician.
CT’s career spans iconic contributions to Tower of Power, Grammy‑winning collaborations with Santana, and performances with artists such as Wayne Shorter. Today, he returns to his jazz roots, leading a quartet united by a shared passion for improvisation and groove.
