Hailed by The New York Times for “saying more in a few lines than most guitarists manage in an entire career,” Kurt Rosenwinkel has been a defining voice in modern jazz for over three decades. He first rose to prominence as a 20 year old member of Gary Burton’s band—following in the footsteps of Larry Coryell and Pat Metheny—and has since released 15 influential albums that have shaped a generation of guitarists.
Rosenwinkel’s collaborators include leading jazz artists such as Mark Turner, Brad Mehldau, Joe Henderson, and Brian Blade. His creative reach also extends far beyond jazz, from performing with Eric Clapton at the Crossroads Guitar Festival to recording with Q Tip, appearing with The Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and working with rising innovators like Domi and JD Beck.
Through these wide ranging projects, Rosenwinkel remains one of contemporary music’s most forward thinking and distinctive guitarists.
