in the last week
The good. The location was right on main street in the heart of the Half Moon Bay business district (a 20 min walk to the beach). The room was large and well-appointed. There was tea/coffee/hot chocolate easily available at all times.
The not so good: The Inn is surrounded by a 2 story U shaped strip mall. That leaves you a choice, keep you shades down and let everyone see in or keep them up and not get natural light. The dark curtain between the bed and the shower area was see-through. Not a problem as I was with my wife, but it might be for others. The breakfast buffet never materialized on either day. There were oranges, bananas and apples in a basket that remained there all day. There appears to be no one onsite to address any issue. Check in was disjointed. We received an email that we would get a code for the door. No code came, just "****". We called and eventually were put through to someone who gave us the door codes (2 separate ones for the front door and the room). Were to input the codes is initially somewhat of a mystery. It is on the door lock itself, but that is dark until you put in the 1st number hoping that you hit the right spot. They say free parking--but that's only for 2 hours. It is unclear if you can park in the lot behind the strip mall. To park out front you pay the Inn (it was $12, but there were $3 in fees and taxes charged on top of that, which seemed like a lot). In the morning we could hear some traffic on Main Street. We were in room 1, closest to Main Street.
