Dead Wax Records opened on Main Street with a mix of new and used vinyl organized by genre, a pair of leather armchairs in the back, and the shop’s own “Coastal Noir” candle burning at the counter. The three owners — two of them longtime Half Moon Bay families — built the space to feel lived-in rather than retail-polished, with dark wood, black accents, and personal touches that make it easy to stay longer than you planned. They buy used records too, and carry turntables, cleaning supplies, and their own T-shirts and tote bags. Locals and weekenders both find their way here.
