Sarah McKenzie is an Australian jazz pianist and vocalist whose breezy technical style, songwriting acumen, and pronounced lyrical sense of swing have drawn comparisons to Blossom Dearie and Diana Krall.
After graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, McKenzie moved to the US in 2012 on a full scholarship to Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music. She then signed with the Impulse! label, went on tours worldwide, and realized one of her dreams by playing at the Montreux Jazz Festival. She has spent periods living and working in Paris and London and has recorded multiple highly praised albums including Close Your Eyes, which won the 2012 ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album.With a masterful touch on the piano and a warm, bright, and inviting vocal style, McKenzie possesses a singular gift, transporting listeners to a world of sophistication and romance.
