Half Moon Bay Coastside Backgrounds

For Your Next Zoom Meeting

Many of us have found ourselves working from home lately, and online video meetings have become a big part of that. But, let’s face it, sometimes you’d rather be anywhere other than your home office. Someplace like Half Moon Bay, perhaps?

Fortunately, some video conference software, like Zoom, let’s you choose your own background image, so you can appear to be anywhere in the world (see the bottom of the page for instructions). We selected some iconic Half Moon Bay Coastside locations that you can download and use as backgrounds. So until you can be here with us in person, you can be here in spirit!

Wildflower Fields, South of Half Moon Bay

In the spring, fields around the Coastside turn brilliant yellow with blooms of mustard and oxalis flowers. Motorists frequently stop to gawk at the broad swaths of color, shown here with the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay and Pillar Point in the distance. (download background)

Point Montara Lighthouse and Devil’s Slide

Montara’s iconic lighthouse is famous for having moved here from its original location on the East Coast; it’s the only lighthouse in America that’s stood watch over both the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. The rocky outcrop of Devil’s Slide can be seen in the distance. (download background)

Sunset at Miramar Beach

A path through emerald-green ice plant near Miramar beckons you toward the sandy beach below, as the sun sets over Pillar Point in the distance. (download background)

Gray Whale Cove

Those hardy visitors that are willing to descend the 147 steps down to the sand at Gray Whale Cove are rewarded with one of the Coastside’s most beautiful pocket beaches. (download background)

Pigeon Point Lighthouse

The Pigeon Point Lighthouse has been watching over the shores south of Pescadero since 1871. It’s the tallest lighthouse on the West Coast (tied with the one at Point Arena) and is a California Historical Landmark. (download background)
