Half Moon Bay’s galleries don’t make you feel like you need to whisper. They’re small and welcoming, most showing local and regional artists, and you can walk into any of them without a reason. A lot of the work comes back to what’s outside the door: the coast, the farms, the light that brought a lot of these artists here in the first place. Some galleries are run by the artists, so the person behind the counter might be the one who made what’s on the wall.
