The Kings Mountain Firehouse and Community Center, a vital hub for the Kings Mountain community, owes its existence to the generous land donation by the Phleger Family in the early 1960s. Expanded in the late 1980s, the center was constructed by the dedicated volunteer labor of local residents, reflecting the community’s strong spirit and commitment. For over 50 years, this facility has served as the home of the Kings Mountain Volunteer Fire Brigade (KMVFB), playing a crucial role in fire protection for the area.
Beyond its primary function as a fire station, the KMVFB encourages residents of Kings Mountain to use the Community Center for various non-fire-related purposes. This makes it a central gathering place, fostering community connections and serving as a testament to the collaborative efforts that built it.
